The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic, well presented and driven team player with a keen eye for detail to join our Maintenance team in the role of Apprentice Painter (maximum term of up to 4 years). This position is ideally suited to applicants who are motivated to undertake a trade qualification, or are looking for a career change and are willing to commit to the work and study requirements of completing a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating. Working with our qualified and supportive tradesman, you will have the opportunity to experience all facets of painting through a combination of vocational education, on-the-job and off-site training, and develop skills and knowledge in a variety of painting and decorating techniques relevant to domestic and commercial operations.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent (preferred)
  • Ability to commit to and successfully complete up to 4 years of study (online and practical assessments)
  • Demonstrated experience in following directions and executing tasks within required timeframes
  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with a high level of attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills including pride in personal presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a team displaying initiative self-motivation.
  • Current QLD driver’s license and a clean driving record (preferred)

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements

It is a mandatory condition of employment for this role that you are vaccinated, and remain vaccinated during your employment, against the following vaccine preventable diseases; Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping cough), and Hepatitis. Staff employed prior to 1 July 2017 are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirement.
