If you have a curiosity to learn and want to develop your pharmacy skills, a rare and exciting opportunity exists for an Oncology Pharmacist to join our team of professionals. Based within our hospital, as an Oncology Pharmacist, you will be supported by the Chief Pharmacist to deliver professional services while ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare. Working closely with the Day Oncology unit, you will also retain your community pharmacist skills by providing regular support in the hospital (community) pharmacy. While advantageous, experience in oncology pharmacy is not essential as training and support will be provided for the right applicant.

The Person

Strong emphasis will be placed on your ability to demonstrate the organisations values of Courage, Diligence, Compassion, Wisdom and Friendliness, as well as their ability to commit to and apply these values in the workplace.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in pharmacy and current registration with AHPRA as a pharmacist in Queensland
  2. Experience working as an oncology pharmacist is desirable, or ability to demonstrate this is your desired career path
  3. Demonstrated ability to apply analytical thinking, judgement and the ability to develop appropriate solutions
  4. High level organisational skills with a proven capacity to manage a competing workload to meet essential and nonnegotiable deadlines
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to develop professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Doctors
  6. Demonstrated high level of computer literacy including dispensary software
  7. Flexibility and willingness to participate in the rotational weekend and on call rosters

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements

It is a mandatory condition of employment for this role that you are vaccinated, and remain vaccinated during your employment, against the following vaccine preventable diseases; Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping cough). It is highly recommended that you are vaccinated against Hepatitis B. Staff employed prior to 1 July 2017 are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirements.
