We have an exciting part time opportunity for a pharmacy assistant to gain or develop hospital and community pharmacy experience. Our local community matter to us and we are looking for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality customer service to ensure we exceed the healthcare needs or our customers. Whilst experience is preferred, this is not essential as training will be provided.

 

The Friendly Society Pharmacy has two stores located at the Friendly Society Private Hospital and in Barolin Street and this role will be required to work across both locations. There will also be a requirement for the successful applicant to work some Saturday mornings.


Day to day duties for this role will include (but are not be limited to):

  • Maintaining stock presentation including cleaning and shelf labelling
  • Maintaining appropriate stock levels by replenishment and rotation of stock
  • Presenting and maintaining the pharmacy and health-care products in a neat and tidy manner
  • Establishing rapport with customers to understand their needs and encourage repeat clientele

The Person

Strong emphasis will be placed on the applicant’s ability to demonstrate the organisations values of Courage, Diligence, Compassion, Wisdom and Friendliness, as well as their ability to commit to and apply these values in the workplace.

Key Selection Criteria for this position includes:

  1. S2/S3 trained or Certificate II or III in Community Pharmacy (highly regarded)
  2. Previous experience working in a pharmacy retail environment (highly regarded)
  3. Highly developed customer service skills with a positive approach to learning new skills and taking on new challenges
  4. Willingness to learn about pharmacy and develop a high level of product knowledge
  5. Ability to learn pharmacy specific Point of Sale software (Alchemii highly desirable)
  6. Knowledge of home health equipment (wheelchairs, walkers etc) would be looked upon favourably

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements:

It is a condition of employment for this role that you are vaccinated, and remain vaccinated during your employment, against the following vaccine preventable diseases; Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping cough), and Hepatitis.

Prior to being made an offer of employment, you will be required to provide evidence of immunity to Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs). Staff employed prior to 1 July 2017 are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirements.
